I'm passionate about playing the GW/FFG Talisman Board Game and bringing people together. In Talisman, you’ll embark on a perilous quest for the ultimate treasure, the legendary Crown of Command. You’ll choose the warrior, priest, wizard, or one of eleven other heroes with powers both magical and mighty, and you’ll race your opponents through a perilous realm. Each player will roll a die to determine his movement around the regions of the board, where he will encounter dangerous foes and claim p …

Enjoy playing games and being creative? Do you know what makes a game fun? Don't leave your game ideas sitting on the shelf gathering dust; show them off at the next Playtest meetup …
Do you like games? I do, I like games. I don’t mean LARP or Wii and X-box games that involve staring at a tv screen but what I think of as proper games; games that come in a box, have a board you play on and pieces that move around the board and that involve interacting with other people. You’ll know they involve interacting because there’s a ‘mom’ and dad and two darling children pictured on the box all excitedly playing. So, I’m thinking about ‘Monopoly’, ‘Cluedo’, ‘MouseTrap’, ‘Labyrinth’, ‘C …
It is sadly with great regret that I must pass on the not-so-great news that at the end of this month, the Classical Game Shop is to close, permanently. While I cannot go into detail as to why this course of action must take place, it is safe to say that when online sales strip the shop sales on such a regular basis, the case for having a bricks-and-mortar store quickly becomes difficult to maintain. While I am disappointed the shop must close, it really is the gaming groups that are wheat made …

Something gloriously old and obscure with an awesome central idea that you want to explore and discuss? We'll be meeting once a month on the first Tuesday of every month to play, make and talk. Bring your pet project and we'll give you feedback. O …

This is a group for people who want to play traditional and modern card games like Cribbage, Tichu, Haggis, Hanabi etc. It is affiliated with London On Board, but is not a replacement for that group, but rather a sub group with a very specific aim. The meetups will be very small and focused on far more restricted a range of games. The requirement for LoD games is that they are of fixed deck composition, are self contained and do not require a board (though some games where the board is an aid, r …
